Academic Support Center
The Academic Support Center at DeVry is responsible for assisting enrolled students at DeVry with their academic progress. The achievement of this goal is aided by the use of Faculty Assistants. Faculty Assistants are students at DeVry who are employed to assist teachers and fellow students. Presently the Academic Support Center employs over 15 students.
The Academic Support Center offers a variety of learning options for all students. The center provides instruction in academic areas through the following methods:
- Individual tutoring in a variety of subjects
- Group tutoring by tutors and faculty members
- Computer assisted instructions
- Basic skills information (Test Taking, Math Anxiety, Time Management, Study Skills, etc.)
The tutors in the ASC are full time students that work as part-time tutors. Each tutor must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and exhibit a strong understanding of course materials.
Often times professors will make themselves available for tutoring students outside of class. During the semester, professors or tutors will offer group tutoring sessions. No appointment is necessary to participate in these sessions.
