Community Scholars Award For High School Seniors
The Community
Scholars Award is a $1,000 per-semester award valued at up to
$9,000. One student from each of the high schools in the Dallas/Fort
Woth metropolitan area will be eligible to receive this award.
General
Information and Requirements
-
To qualify,
a student must rank in the top 50 percent
of their senior class or have a cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale
-
One student
from every designated high school in the Dallas/Fort Worth
area is eligible for a scholarship
-
A student
must be nominated by a high school college coordinator or
guidance counselor
-
Nominees
cannot also be eligible for the Dean's Scholarship
-
Scholarship
recipients must graduate from high school in 2008, be accepted
at DeVry and begin their studies during the same calendar
year
-
Scholarship
recipients must be U.S. citizens or have permanent residency
status
-
Scholarships
are renewable and cover tuition for the total number of terms
in a student's chosen program

In order
to maintain their eligibility, scholarship students must remain
in good standing

Scholarship
recipients are responsible for housing costs, book charges
and other fees

document completed by the scholarship winners
