Program & Shift Changes
Approvals to change programs or shifts (standard, accelerated) should be received in the weeks prior to registration. The process begins and ends in the Registrar's Office and includes approvals from the Academic Advisor, Academic Dean and Student Finance. Credits granted in one program may not count toward graduation or the GPA in another program.
Program Change Process
- Student will pick up and fill out top portion of request and leave at Registrar's Office to verify qualifications for the new program. (Registrar's Office will process within 3-5 business days. Process time may be extended during periods of registration, if the student involved is not affected until the next term.)
- Student goes back to the Registrar's Office to pick up the form and learns whether they meet the requirements for the new program.
- If the student meets the qualifications, the student then goes to Academics to meet with a Student Advocate to review program content and requirements.
- At the conclusion of the meeting between the Student Advocate and the student, the Advocate will check to see if the new Program Dean is available and escort the student to the new Program Dean. If the new Program Dean is not available, the Advocate will bring the student to the Academics Front Desk to make an appointment. (Front Desk Staff will include pertinent information regarding the appointment.)
- Student meets with the Program Dean for the new program to request program change approval. Dean either approves or denies the request.
- If Dean approves the request, student sees a Student Finance Advisor for appropriate signature.
- Student must return completed form to the Registrar's Office for processing. Additional paperwork (i.e. VA Benefits and/or new Enrollment Agreement Addendum) may need to be signed. (Students need to keep a copy of their completed Program Change Form and the Transcript Evaluation that accompanies it.)
- During Registration students may schedule courses in the new program using the Oracle Student System. Students are encouraged to meet with a Student Advocate to select classes.
- The new program will appear in Degree Navigator by week 6 of the new semester.
