How do I register for classes?
Everything you need to know about registration is compiled right here with quick, easy instructions and demos at your fingertips. You can use this page as a guide for finding answers to your registration questions.
There are three essential steps to registration:
- Check & Clear Your Holds
- Check Your Holds in the student portal
- Plan Your Schedule
- Degree Navigator serves as your personal program guide which you can access from the student portal
- Degree Navigator can be accessed through My DeVry Student Portal (OSS) under 'My Degree Requirements' on the left hand side under 'My Tools'.
- There is a tutorial for Degree Navigator which you can access in the 'How to Center' on My DeVry Student Portal (OSS)
- Find course description information (click on the course while in Degree Navigator)
- Find prerequisite information (click on the course while in Degree Navigator)
- The academic flow charts can assist you in knowing what order to take classes
- The academic catalog will give you an in-depth understanding of your program & courses within your program
- First Year Math and English course sequence information
- The Practice Schedule site allows you to formulate a schedule prior to input in the student portal
- You will want to know these key tips BEFORE scheduling in a session based format:
- Remember that you want to register for both Session A & B at the beginning of the semester
- Financial Aid is calculated based on the number of hours you take for the ENTIRE semester; (e.g., If you take 3 credit hours in Session A and 3 credit hours in Session B you have a total of 6 credit hours for the entire semester)
- You can take no more than 11 credit hours per Session in any given Semester and no more than 19 credit hours for the ENTIRE semester
- For approval of over 19 credit hours an Academic Exception Form must be submitted
- Degree Navigator serves as your personal program guide which you can access from the student portal

- Utilize the Help Desk Ticket for problems/errors only
- Utilize the Academic Exception Form for requests of exception
- Always remember to reprint your schedule prior to class start for any changes which you can access from My DeVry Student Portal (OSS) under 'My Tools' by clicking the link 'View My Schedule'
What are registration time lines?
- Early and Regular Registration Dates
- Week 5 Holds Advising – Determine Hold and Register Early
- Week 6 Continuing (Currently Enrolled) Student Registration – Avoid late fees and long lines! Register Online through My DeVry Student Portal (OSS)
- Late Registration Dates and Penalties
- Week 7 begins late registration - $50.00 late fee
