DeVry student
organizations are created and managed by students. The diversity
and number are determined by student support and creativity. Each
year new clubs are created. Information on how to form new cubs
is available in Student Central. Following is a list
of the current recognized clubs and organizations at DeVry.
Alpha Delta
“The beginning of change…” this organization is a step club open to
all students interested in stepping and participating in fund-raisers and other events.
Its goal is to bring excitement to the students’ lives while exploring the history
of stepping. Faculty Advisor: Barbara Kirksey
Association
of Information Technology Professionals Dallas Student Chapter
(AITP)
AITP is a professional association in the field of computer management.
Benefits include membership in a professional organization, subscription to
the monthly newsletter, interaction with others on campus, opportunities to
attend National and Regional conferences and competitions, and field trips to
area computer facilities.
Campus
Bible Study (CBS)
CBS is an inter-denominational Christian group that meets weekly to
provide support and strength to each other through fellowship and prayer,
in an open forum-style Bible study on student selected topics. Faculty Advisor:

DeVry Scholars
The DeVry Scholars is an organization dedicated to encouraging academic
achievement and is open to all undergraduate students at the Irving campus.

DeVry Student Network Association (DSNA)
The purpose of the DeVry Student Network Association is to bring together
students from all programs and provide them with an opportunity to learn from
one another. Faculty Advisor: Martin Schreiber
DeVry Gamers (GAMERS)
The Gamers Club allows students of DeVry University a place in which they can
gather together and enjoy their favorite games while testing their skills in
friendly competition, to help them learn more about other games, to allow them a
place to socialize and create friendships. The goal of Gamers of DeVry is to bring
players together, have tournaments for the games, and educate new players. Advisor:

Health Information Leaders of Tomorrow (HILT)
Health Information Leaders of Tomorrow is geared toward supplementing the
learning of Health Information Technology students by exploring ethical and
legal issues, listening to guest speakers and discussing best practices. Faculty

Irving DeVry University Game Developers Association (IGDA)
The Irving DeVry University Game Developer’s Association is dedicated to
providing an industry team-oriented game development atmosphere while allowing
members to explore their creative, technical and leadership potential in a
recreational environment. Faculty Advisor: Ed Magnin
Institute
of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEE)
Founded in 1884, by Thomas Edison, IEEE is an international technical professional
society devoted to advancing the theory and application of electrical engineering,
electronics, and computing. The IEEE is the world’s largest technical society and
serves more than 320,000 electrical engineers, scientists and other professionals in
approximately 150 countries. Student members enjoy substantially discounted dues,
but almost all the benefits of professional members. Faculty Advisor:

Linux Users
Club (LUC)
The Linux Users Club allows students to learn the full range of functionality of
Linux in an environment outside the classroom. Students from all programs and all
levels of Linux comprehension are welcome to join the Linux Users Club.

National
Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)
NSBE is designed to achieve, stimulate, and develop student interest and participation
in the engineering profession. This society offers members leadership training, scholarships,
academic recognition and professional development opportunities. These opportunities will
take both on and off campus. NSBE will encourage and equip members to excel academically,
succeed professionally, and positively impact the engineering community. For more information

Society
of Women Engineers (SWE)
SWE provides technical tours, professional meetings, and social activities. SWE is
a professional, non-profit educational service organization of graduate engineers,
both men and women, with equivalent engineering experience dedicated to the
